Angela Schulz
Angela Schulz is a Professor for rare pediatric diseases and senior physician / consultant in Pediatrics at the University Children’s Hospital at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. As head of the research group for Childhood Neurodegenerative Disease / NCL since 2015, she coordinates the international DEM-CHILD NCL patient database. In addition, as head of the NCL specialty clinic and the Pediatric University Center for Innovative Therapies (Ped.UCiT), she is principal investigator in various clinical trials in the field of NCLs and other neurodegenerative lysosomal diseases. Her mission is to advance early diagnosis and newborn screening and to combine clinical care with clinical and translational research to develop innovative therapies and improve care for children affected by NCL.
