Miriam MA Aurilia

She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Naples Federico II, where she worked on the cloning and characterization of CRISPR-Cas proteins in archaeal species. She then pursued a Master’s thesis in Clinical Pathology, focusing on the relationship between the transcription factor RUNX1 and extracellular matrix alterations in Down syndrome. In 2021, she joined the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) through the SEMM PhD program in the laboratory of Diego Medina, where she is currently investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying Batten disease.
